Hospitality staffing
Service that keeps the room moving.
Waitstaff, bar support and the setup and cleanup crews behind receptions, galas, weddings and catered events.
Roles
Every part of the service, covered.
Mix roles across one event — setup in the afternoon, service through the evening, cleanup at close.
- Waitstaff
- Plated, buffet and passed service. Note the service style, number of courses and guest count so staffing levels match the room.
- Bar support
- Barbacks and bar helpers who keep stations stocked, glassware moving and lines short. Tell us about bar layout and any licensing requirements in your area.
- Setup crew
- Table and linen setting, station layout and room resets before doors open. Include load-in access and the floor plan if you have one.
- Cleanup crew
- Clearing, breakdown and back-of-house support at close. Share end time, waste handling and what needs to be left where.
Plan the shift around the service.
Before guests
Setup timing depends on room access, rental deliveries and how much is pre-set. Build in time for a walkthrough and a short team briefing.
During service
Think in ratios: guests per server, the pace of courses, how many bar stations. Peaks — doors, dinner, toasts — need the most hands.
After the last guest
Clearing and breakdown often takes longer than expected. Set a clear end time and list what must be packed, stacked or returned.

Hospitality FAQs
Can I request staff for both setup and service?
Yes — list each as a separate role with its own times. Some people may work a continuous shift; others only a portion. Clear times make the plan easier to staff.
Who provides uniforms and equipment?
Specify the dress code in your request and note anything you will provide on site, such as aprons, trays or branded shirts.
Does bar support include serving alcohol?
Requirements for serving alcohol vary by location. Describe the duties you need and any certifications your venue requires so the request can be reviewed accordingly.
